Live Auto DR demonstration showcasing OpenADR plug-and-play interoperability in multi-vendor hardware display at San Diego Convention Center, Booth 126. LAFAYETTE, Cal. - Jan 25, 2011- Utility Integration Solutions (UISOL), the utility industry systems integration specialist and the leading provider of demand response management solutions, will demonstrate end-to-end integration of multi-vendor demand response (DR) technologies using emerging interoperability standards at the 2011 DistribuTECH Conference and Exhibition Feb. 1-3, 2011 in San Diego.UISOL is featuring the Open Automated Demand Response (OpenADR) protocol in a simulated DR dispatch event between a wholesale market and utilities to end-use energy management in-home DR devices from Alektrona, Control4, Tendril and Universal Devices. UISOL's automated demand response management system, DRBizNetTM, will serve as the integration platform creating fully automated end-to-end solutions for demand response. This demonstration will take place at the UISOL display (Booth #126) in the San Diego Convention Center exhibit hall. Standards like OpenADR are absolutely key to demand response and smart grid implementation," said UISOL CEO, Ali Vojdani. "I am pleased that a growing number of other leading DR technology providers have joined us to demonstrate the feasibility of end-to-end automated demand response solutions leveraging OpenADR." OpenADR defines a communications interface protocol that allows utilities to automate management of end-use energy loads or demand response. The specification was developed by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. UISOL and Berkeley Labs co-developed an open source implementation tool kit that can be offered in the public domain for further research, development and distribution in the utility, controls and buildings industries. End-to-end integration and automation of DR communication and business processes, sometimes referred to as automated DR or AutoDR, can eliminate the costly and time consuming manual steps in managing DR. It is also essential to providing "fast DR" services such as synchronous reserve and frequency regulation. A growing number of utilities are now exploring the potential of AutoDR to balance the increasing levels of intermittent wind and solar power generation. About UISOL
