Former Siemens media manager brings B2B knowledge to serve smart grid clients ATLANTA – Oct. 21, 2009 – The McDonnell Group, Inc., an Atlanta-based agency delivering energy and technology focused marketing services, has hired Marc Marton to provide strategic public relations management for the firm’s roster of clients.Managing Director Don McDonnell said, “We recognized Marc’s broad experience and media credentials as a great fit with our mission to deliver knowledge-based public relations support to our clients.” Marton brings over 20 years of deep communications experience to The McDonnell Group, starting as a newspaper reporter and branching out to agency, corporate and non-profit organizations. He most recently was the communications director at Voices for Georgia’s Children, the state’s preeminent child policy and advocacy group, where he developed all brand marketing and communications programs. As a public relations manager with Siemens Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of Siemens AG, where he was the North American media representative for the company’s energy and automation products and services businesses, Marton learned the issues and developed the contacts that will inform his utility-focused public relations work for The McDonnell Group. His Siemens experience was preceded by several years as an account executive with SJF Associates, a public relations firm in Marton’s home state of New Jersey. He made the jump to PR from journalism, having been a reporter with The Summit Herald in Summit, New Jersey. Marton will help The McDonnell Group’s retained technology clients build brand awareness and revenue in the energy and electric utility markets through media and industry analyst relations and marketing communications services. Marton is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and resides in Roswell, Georgia.
