Award Recognizes Leadership and Achievement in Georgia’s Technology Community ATLANTA - May 17, 2007 - TAG Marketing, a society of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), announced today the winner of the 2007 Technology Marketing Executive of the Year Award during its awards ceremony held this morning at Maggiano’s Little Italy.Ed Solar, Cellnet’s Vice President of Marketing and Sales was recognized for his outstanding leadership, career achievements and positive impact on technology marketing in Georgia. Additionally, Justin Barnes, Vice President of Marketing and Government Affairs for Greenway Medical Technologies, was awarded with an honorable mention. “We’re proud to honor the outstanding achievements of this year’s winner and honorable mention,” said Ed Gandia, TAG Marketing awards chair. “The Technology Marketing Executive of the Year Award shows the remarkable impact these individuals have made within their organizations. Just as important, it highlights the positive contributions each has made towards the advancement of technology marketing as a whole.” Since joining Cellnet, Ed Solar has led a marketing and sales rebuilding effort, including assembling a team that has delivered record sales, revenue and backlog. The direct result of this effort was an increase in Cellnet’s market valuation of nearly $500 million in two years, as well as the sale of Cellnet to Australian energy-efficiency company, Bayard Group, in January 2007 for AU$900 million (approximately US$705 million). Justin Barnes has been instrumental in helping to grow Greenway Medical Technologies into one of the nation’s leading providers of electronic health record (EHR) technology. Mr. Barnes has developed key advisory relationships with Congress and the President’s administration to help save lives and greatly reduce healthcare costs for small and large businesses alike. “We received three times as many nominations as we did last year, and all nominees were very strong candidates,” said Gandia. “But with only one Technology Marketing Executive Award for this year, we felt compelled to recognize Mr. Barnes with an ‘honorable mention’ for his outstanding career achievements.” The winners were selected from a qualified group of nominee applications. Nominations were then reviewed by a selection committee comprised of TAG Marketing board members. Each nomination was evaluated on the individual’s contributions to his or her organization’s objectives and leadership, the organization’s impact on innovation, and the individual’s leadership in mentoring those in technology marketing. The Awards were sponsored by Arketi Group, 2007 TAG Marketing’s 2007 bronze sponsor, and TechLINKS, the event’s media sponsor.
