Head of DOE Modern Grid Strategy team to share grid modernization and process/technology optimization insights in keynote address

ATLANTA – April 27, 2009 — When electrical utility executives, engineers, and other leaders gather this week for ACSessions 2009, the industry’s most enduring customer group gathering, they will have a chance to glimpse the future of smart grid technologies from one of the nation’s leading visionaries in smart grid strategy.  Joe Miller of Horizon Energy Group will deliver the keynote address on Monday, April 27, 2009.

As senior vice president at Horizon Energy Group, Miller advises energy industry leaders in the areas of grid modernization and process/technology optimization. He also serves as leader of the DOE Modern Grid Strategy (MGS) team for the National Energy Technology Laboratory, where he plays a key role in developing the vision and concepts guiding smart grid developments nationwide.  The MGS team advises and assists interested state regulators and other stakeholders as they pursue grid modernization in their states.
