MEDIA ALERT Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative to Release “Excellence in Consumer Engagement” report” at Smart Energy International Conference – Monday, Oct. 24 What: A report examining consumer engagement communications programs tied to the deployment and consumer acceptance of Smart Grid programs from more than 20 electric utilities across America, representing almost 20 million homes with smart meters. The report shows that communications that clearly convey near-term financial benefits to consumers and adapt certain customer engagement processes can enhance consumer adoption of Smart Grid programs. Who: The report was commissioned by the Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative (SGCC) and was conducted by Altman Vilandrie & Co. (AV&Co.). SGCC Executive Director Patty Durand and Matt Dinsmore from AV&Co will be available on Oct. 24-26 via phone or Webex to summarize the report and its implications for all smart grid stakeholders. Where/When: Smart Energy International 2011 Conference Background: The study highlights ten core findings and recommendations dealing with consumer Smart Grid engagement issues involving advance metering infrastructure (AMI), demand response (DR) and energy efficiency (EE) programs.
