Roles and Responsibilities
Peter provides strategic consulting services, competitive market positioning and analysis, and support of subject matter input and content for research programs. He is well versed at looking at issues from the perspective of utility personnel, having started as an engineer at Con Edison, where he held a wide range of positions across the generation, transmission and distribution systems. Peter helps clients find and apply the value drivers essential to determining the benefits propositions behind utilities’ important business decisions. Along with numerous magazine articles and conference presentations, he has authored five major reports on Mobile Data Systems, GIS, ERP/EAM, and WMS/OMS.
Professional Background
Since leaving his position as a utility engineer in 1989, Peter held a variety of utility industry sales, marketing, and product management positions for equipment manufacturers and enterprise software vendors. Ten years ago he transitioned to providing strategic market analysis and analytical services. Along with numerous enterprise software vendors and equipment manufacturers seeking to better position their utility product offerings, his clients have also included electric, gas and water utilities requiring analysis of key business issues and competitive offerings in the enterprise software space. Peter has also provided benchmarking services for utilities and the vendors that serve them. His benchmarking clients have included vendors seeking ROI benefits calculations for specific solutions, as well as a major investor-owned utility whose M&A project required comparison of more than 40 investor-owned electric and gas distribution utilities based on their fitness for acquisition, as a function of their O&M performance.
Education and Affiliations
Peter earned a B.A. in philosophy from Vassar College, a B.S. in electrical engineering from Polytechnic University of NY, and an M.B.A. in marketing and finance from NYU Stern School of Business. Peter is a member of the IEEE PES.
