Goshen Valley Classic Continues to Raise Money For Hope and a Home for Boys

The Goshen Valley Boys Ranch holds its 4th annual Classic at Cherokee Golf Club October 19, 2009.

WALESKA, GA – August 19, 2009 – The Goshen Valley Boys Ranch announces the 4th annual Goshen Valley Classic to be held on October 19, 2009.  The fundraiser will again be held at Cherokee Country Club (www.cherokeetcc.org), one of the premier golf clubs in the state of Georgia.

In 2001, The Goshen Valley Boys Ranch opened its doors and has provided a home to over 100 boys.  Children come to the Ranch from a background characterized by deprivation, abuse, loss and neglect.  The purpose of the Ranch is to provide hope, healing, and a home for these boys in need.

The Goshen Valley Classic, held at Cherokee Country Club, is the primary fundraiser for the Ranch.  In years past, generous support for the Golf Classic has provided resources for the construction of the Community Pavilion, the paving of Goshen Valley Trail, and the establishment of the award winning Independent Living Program, having raised nearly $250,000.

Zach Blend, Goshen Valley’s Director of Community Relations and son of founders John and Connie Blend, offers, “For those who have a heart to serve boys in real need, there is no better day spent than a day at Cherokee forging new relationships at the Goshen Valley Classic.  The Classic serves as the place where long time supporters gather in fellowship, while allowing those new to the ministry to learn of our cause and enjoy one of the finest golfing facilities in the southeast.”
